The Alphabets…What a fabulous invention our ancestors created…Thousands of years ago we could spread words, writing and knowledge. The Phoenicians established “counters” in the Mediterranean and the Aegean Sea, developed trade and commerce … establishing exchange and dialogue among people and communities… leading to communicating ideas and opinions.
The three monotheistic religions were born in a region where the Alphabet was present (born in 2000 BC) and they could spread thanks to the use of this simple way of writing and reading. (Coran means reading..)
The first thing children learn at school is Alphabets… People, Communities, and Nations compare by literacy rate and education.
In all the Alphabet created by the Phoenicians was at the origin of all alphabets, touching all fields of sciences and cultures.. Including religious matters… leading to the civilisation we know today. …a legacy to be proud of.
UNESCO “The invention of the Alphabet is the most valuable contribution Lebanon has made to the whole of humanity.”
(In 2005, UNESCO registered the Phoenician Alphabet into the memory of the WORLD PROGRAM as a Heritage of Lebanon:

The Dialogue of Alphabets project
- Purpose: Launch a global initiative for Dialogue, a message from Lebanon to the world, using the Alphabet, as a mean of communication between Humans and Nations.
2- The idea: An innovative , creative and sustainable project
- Bring the cultures of the world together through the symbiosis of letters, in one universally accepted language, which transcends all conflicts: ART
- Associate talents from different backgrounds and nationalities and stimulate them by an inspiring and unifying theme (The Alphabets) , which will bring together visual and creative expressions of different and varied cultures in one place : Lebanon
- Begin in Lebanon , birth of the Alphabets by launching school age children competitions across the country through Fabriano Foundation ( already started)
- Create a permanent display of winning works in an Open Air permanent Gallery, which will become a touristic destination for residents and visitors from all over the world, to see and enjoy.
- Create a yearly international prize. Based on year 1 success , we will open for year 2 onwards prize winning ceremony where awards will be given to the best outstanding idea depicting the Dialogue of Alphabet concept ( similar to the Oscars) in any of the chosen art expression : Dance, Music, Paintings, Design & Architecture, Digital, Sculpture, Graffiti , literature,
The underlying objective is to convey a message of values (moderation, learning, living together, diversity… )
At this particular time of our troubled history, initiatives, which foster dialogue and interactions among humans and nations, are needed.
The Dialogue of Alphabets is its first expression
